When’s the best time to buy a vacation package?
By SkiTripper | January 22, 2009
mc asked:
I am traveling Dec 14-18 and there is a vacation package that i want to purchase. The package originally was 550(when i saw it 3 weeks ago) went up to 770 last week and today is down to 597. Should i get this package now or see a couple days more if it goes back down to original price? Keep in mind today is exactly 90 days before the time of travel, if that has any bearing on the price

If you really want to go on this trip, buy it when the price fits what you want to spend. Since you started to look at it when it was 550, you might want to buy it now at 597.
If you wait too long the price will, most likely, continue to rise and/or the package might sell out.

The best time is when you have enough money.
Always make sure to do it at least 21 days before for the best price. Never buy it within 7 days of your flight, you’ll pay out the nose.

I have been following the prices for the last couple of weeks. The prices seem to start skyrocketing at the end of the first week of October. I would book now.

As you get closer to your departure date the rates may continue to rise. Check with the travel agent you are dealing with. If they are good they offer you price protection insurance certain restrictions apply. But sometime if the prices go down and you have the insurance you may be able to get the lower fare …If you need some prices contact us.
