Going On Kefalonia Holidays

A lot of people from the European nations like to go to the Greek islands on their holidays. This isn’t surprising because they are extremely beautiful and you have amazing weather. A place that has been neglected in the past is Kefalonia. Kefalonia holidays are now becoming more popular and there is good reason for that.

Kefalonia isn’t the biggest Greek island but it is the largest of the Ionian islands. The number of people that actually live on the island full time is less than 50,000. The largets employer on the island is tourism.

What type of holiday do you want? If you want a typical 18 to 30’s holiday then Keflonia holidays aren’t for you. If you want to relax then they are right up your street. It has some of the best beaches in Europe and has a beach that you have probably seen before with realising. This beach, Myrtos Beach, is often on Greek holiday brochures.

If you are more into your culture than you beaches then this doesn’t stop you going on Kefalonia holidays. There are lots of ancient ruins for you to visit with some being more than 2000 years old. Make sure that you take your water with you because it can become very hot walking around.

If you love nature you are in for a treat. The endangered loggerhead turtle can be sometimes spotted. Not only that, they have some fantastic caves for you to explore. If you prefer walking then you will enjoy strolling up some of the mountains. They aren’t that difficult to climb and the views are amazing.

The accommodation on the Greek islands are all pretty standard. As you can expect that while it is basic it will also be very clean. The atmosphere also tends to be very friendly.

Now you should have a good idea of what to expect from Kefalonia holidays. It should be a very enjoyable experience and don’t forget the sun block!
