A Guide To The Best Beaches And Greece Hotels

With so much choice, settling on a beach in the Greek Islands can be a difficult task. The islands are justifiably world famous, both for the variety and quality of their beaches. From deserted, sheltered coves to expansive white-sand beaches, you’re sure to be able to find the right beach for you. While you might not want to leave the beach, sleeping and eating there is not an option for most travellers. Complete your holiday with a stay in one of the many comfortable Greece hotels.

While the temperate climate of Greece provides for swimming and sunbathing from late May to early October, many travellers find the last two weeks of September an optimal time to visit. If you want to avoid the crowds but still top up the tan, the end of September is probably the best time to visit. And since most of the restaurants, tourist attractions and bars won’t have yet closed for the winter, it shouldn’t feel as though you’re missing out on anything. Clearly, the most persuasive benefit of visiting at this time of year is that it’s easier to pick up bargain deals on Greece hotels.

Party Resorts

For those visitors looking for somewhere to dance the night away, Paradise Beach in Mykonos certainly looks to fit the bill. Holidaymakers flock to Paradise Beach throughout the summer, all with a view to enjoying the sun, sea, sand and vibrant nightlife. As a result of this demand, there’s a great variety of Greece hotels in the area, perfect for holidaymakers of all tastes and every budget.

Family Resorts

Families usually want gentle surf, extensive stretches of soft sand and handy restrooms and showers. Villages built on the beach like Vatera in Lesvos and Kamares in Sifnos satisfy most family member’s needs, while also providing nearby cafes and restaurants. These beaches also have kiosks that rent beach chairs and umbrellas—providing a handy place to get a break from the sun. Look for Greece hotels and resorts located on the beach so adults can enjoy rest and relaxation nearby while their kids dig in the sand and swim in the surf.

Beaches for Snorkelling

The red and black volcanic sands lining Red Beach in Santorini, as well as the region’s steep cliffs, make it a dramatically picturesque location. Due to the beach’s unique geographical rocks and volcanic formations, it enjoys an internationally-renowned reputation for snorkelling. A large array of sea life resides in the area’s crystal clear waters.
